Nursery

Welcome to Burton Green Nursery!

Burton Green Nursery is an Early Years education setting for children aged three to four years. It is staffed by a dedicated, experienced team led by Corinne Naylor, a qualified teacher, specialising in Early Years.

We aim to deliver outstanding provision for our children in a safe, friendly and fun environment.

Within our nursery setting, the children have ample opportunities to learn and explore through play, developing a range of skills they will need later in life. We have a fantastic indoor and outdoor learning environment, all focused on the needs of younger children and we also welcome and support children who speak English as an additional language. Children who attend our nursery are very well-prepared for starting school.

All parents are entitled to 15 hours of nursery provision and we also offer 30 hours of provision as part of the government 30 hours funded education scheme for working parents. We can offer advice regarding your eligibility for the additional funding.

Visitors are always welcome. Do come and meet us and see our provision – we would love to show you around!

Supporting your child

We believe in an inclusive practice. Our nursery team and colleagues throughout the school are very experienced in supporting children and young people with disabilities or additional needs.

How many places are there?

We currently have 26 places in each session in nursery. There is a nursery intake in September, January and April, and children can often also start during a term if necessary. We will work as flexibly as possible to meet your needs and may even be able to offer an immediate start. Please contact us for details of current vacancies.

Starting at Nursery

Starting nursery can be a big step both for your child and you as a parent. You and your child will be invited to come and join in a nursery session, giving you the chance to get to know the adults and other children in the nursery setting. These sessions are free of charge and allow parents and staff to work

closely together to support the children.

How much does it cost?

All parents are entitled to 15 hours of free childcare for their three and four year old. This is funded the term after the child’s third birthday. Any additional hours over 15 hours would be at a cost of £4 per hour.

The nursery also offers the 30 hours extended entitlement for working parents who meet certain criteria. Lisa Summerscales, our Home-School Worker, can help you to check your entitlement and apply for funding.

Any additional hours over 30 hours would be at a cost of £4 per hour. Full information is available on the

Yor-ok website at www.yor-ok.org.uk

Wrap around care

At Burton Green Primary School, we also offer a breakfast club. For nursery children, these sessions must be pre-booked due to their age and needs, and a charge is made. Full information is available from the school office.
