Pupil Performance

Key Stage 1 Results – end of Year 2.

These are the levels achieved by pupils at Burton Green at the end of Year 2 (Key Stage 1) across the last 4 years.

From July 2016 government assessment at Year 2 changed with measures being:

  • Pupils working towards the standard
  • Pupils working at the expected standard
  • Pupils working at greater depth within the expected standard

Until July 2015, children were expected to achieve Level 2, with level 2B the national average for children in Year 2. Level 3 was well above national expectations for Year 2 children.

Key Stage 2 Results – end of Year 6

These are the levels achieved by pupils at Burton Green at the end of Year 6 (Key Stage 2) across the last 4 years.

. From July 2016 government assessment at Year 6 changed with measures being:

  • Pupils working towards the standard
  • Pupils working at the expected standard
  • Pupils working at greater depth within the expected standard
  • The new progress measures, introduced in 2016, are a type of value added measure, which means that pupils’ results are compared to the actual achievements of other pupils nationally with similar prior attainment.

Until July 2015 , children were expected to achieve at least Level 4, in Reading, Writing and Maths. Two levels of progress shows the percentage of children that make satisfactory progress between the end of Key Stage 1  (Year 2) and the end of Key Stage 2 (Year 6); three levels progress is accelerated progress. Level 5 is well above national expectations for Year 6 children.

School Performance

The Department for Education (DfE) produce Performance Tables which give information on the achievements of pupils in primary, secondary and 16-18 provision in schools and colleges, and how they compare with other schools in the Local Authority (LA) area and in England as a whole.

Detailed information and guidance on the various aspects of the tables can be found on the DfE website.
