Nursery

All parents are entitled to 15 hours of Nursery provision and we also offer 30 hours of provision as part of the government 30 hours scheme for working parents. There is a Nursery intake in September, January and April, and children can also start within a term if needed. We have a fantastic team of Early Years staff. Nursery is led by Nicola Byrne, supported by Vicki Whittaker. To support transition into Nursery, the staff run a series of transition sessions called ‘Little Penguins’ in the weeks before each intake. These are free of charge, and allow parents and staff to work closely together to support our children. Lisa Summerscales, our Home-School worker also supports these sessions and is available for any support parents may need – no matter how large or small. Lisa can be contacted via the school office and is available for a coffee and a chat throughout the school day.

Nursery sessions are:

The Nursery also offers the 30 hours extended entitlement for working parents. Burton Green Primary School can support you to check your entitlement, and also apply for funding. The Yor-ok website details how to apply, and an eligibility checker is available here. If you require any support with the extended entitlement checker, please ask at the school office.

Nursery children can also access before and after school care – but this has to be pre-booked due to the age and needs of the children, and a charge is made.
